LVMH Fashion Group creates new management role; appoints Sephora exec Guillaume Motte as Deputy CEO

THE WHAT? The LVMH Fashion Group has appointed Sephora exec Guillaume Motte as its new Deputy CEO, according to a report by WWD.com. 

THE DETAILS Bulking up its leadership team, Motte will become the right hand man to Sidney Toledano, Chairman and CEO, and will take up the newly created position effective 3rd May, 2021. 

Motte is currently acting in his role as President of Sephora Europe and Middle East, and is set to work on helping small and medium-sized brands within the LVMH Fashion Group across the supply chain as well as focusing on digital and omnichannel transformations. 

The beauty exec will also look to meet sustainability and client-service goals. 

THE WHY? LVMH has been strengthening its managerial power to mirror the growth of the luxury market thanks to both the digital boom and its resilience in the wake of the pandemic.  

According to an internal note seen by WWD.com, Toledano wrote, “Guillaume’s extensive experience gained throughout a diversified professional career focused on the development of brands, in retail and in digital, will strengthen the Fashion Group and accelerate its growth.”
