LVMH targets digital growth with management reshuffle

THE WHAT? LVMH has announced a series of senior appointments across its digital and selective retail arms, according to various reports published by WWD.

THE DETAILS The luxury goods conglomerate has named Chris de Lapuente Chairman and CEO of its Selective Retailing unit. The former head of Sephora was rumored to be taking on a bigger role as Martin Brok was named as his successor at the perfumery chain in September.

Meanwhile, Michael David, VP, Client Development and Digital at Louis Vuitton has been promoted to Chief Omnichannel Officer, effective January 20, while Franck Le Moal will see his role as IT Director expanded to encompass oversight of the Digital Partnerships team.

THE WHY? The digital appointments have been prompted by Chief Digital Officer, Ian Rogers’ transition to an advisory role as he moves over to Paris-based start-up Ledger, while de Lapuente has been drafted in to work some of the magic he sprinkled over Sephora during his 10-year tenure on ailing DFS.
