Following its acquisition of Shropshire-based plastic tubes and caps firm Depiction, M&H Plastics (RPC Group) has announced its intention to move production to Suffolk, putting 40 jobs at risk, according to a report in the Shropshire Star.
Family-owned Depiction is currently based at Maer Land Industrial Site in Market Drayton, however, it appears that new-owner M&H Plastics is planning to relocate the business to the other side of the UK.
A statement released on behalf of the directors of M&H Plastics said: “We are pleased to announce that M&H Plastics Group has completed the acquisition of Depiction Ltd. After detailed assessment of how best to integrate the business into the group, the decision has been reached to relocate manufacture to the London Road Beccles site in Suffolk.
“This will be completed by mid-September 2015 and will result in the closure of the Market Drayton site. Staff on the site have been notified and a redundancy process is under way. It is hoped that some staff will consider relocating to M&H.”
