THE WHAT? Lauder-owned MAC has hired Cushman & Wakefield to help it sublease four of its New York City stores, according to a report published by The Real Deal.
THE DETAILS The make-up brand is hoping to find tenants for its Manhattan locations at 210 East 86th Street, 853 Broadway, 689 Fifth Avenue and the Brooklyn-based 165 Smith Street. All the stores reportedly closed permanently prior to the pandemic.
THE WHY? A representative for The Estee Lauder Companies told The Real Deal, “As the brand pivots [its] business to meet evolving retail dynamics and consumer preferences, MAC is investing more in retail experiences and focusing on key locations, which involves new openings, closures, renovations and relocations.”
