THE WHAT? The Uncle Bud hemp and CBD brand has entered the Chinese market via a partnership with Alibaba-owned Tmall.
THE DETAILS The brand, which is available in more than 15,000 stores in the U.S., will launch in China on 6th November, with financial partner Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson making a live appearance on the B2C platform.
Johnson, who will be assisting in marketing and promotions for the brand, stated, “I’m excited to be part of this significant development and business expansion for Uncle Buds because China has an enormous buying power and a large consumer base.”
THE WHY? As China rebounds from the wake of the pandemic and the wellness industry soars in popularity, it’s a strategic retail partnership and business development for Uncle Bud.
Uncle Bud’s Co-Founder and President Bruno Schiavi stated that the partnership is ‘doubling down’ on its mission to “bring education and democratization to the Hemp and CBD categories, giving consumers everywhere the ability to realize the life-changing healing properties of these powerful ingredients.”
Jackie Lee, Tmall Global’s Head of Beauty and Personal Care, said, “We launched the Go Global 11.11 Pitch Fest this year to help emerging US brands like Uncle Bud’s grow their businesses globally.”
