Malaysian entrepreneur and online beauty expert Farra Fareez has recently launched a cosmetics store in Malaysia named Sefarra, with the shop’s branding and packaging drawing strong similarities to that of US retail giant Sephora.
Such is the resemblance that consumers have taken to social media to express their disdain for the company’s copycat style, with comments such showing up on Instagram such as, ‘The founder for this ‘seffarra’ store literally 99.99% copying Sephora. From paperbag to store, head till toe’ (sic).
To add to the woes, there are also reports of fake products being sold in store, with a fragrance collection said to be ‘inspired’ by Chanel. However, one Twitter user noted that there are numerous copycat brands within Malaysia, including Anas as a direct copy of Nars.
