THE WHAT? MAV Beauty Brands has announced that Scott Beattie has joined its Board of Directors as an Independent Director, effective immediately. Following his appointment, Jeffrey Barber and Kathy Mayor have resigned from the Board.

THE DETAILS Beattie served previously as Non-executive Vice Chairman of Revlon’s Board of Directors.

THE WHY? The Canadian beauty firm did not cite a reason for the appointment but, presumably, Beattie’s decades of experience in the industry, as CEO and Chairman of Elizabeth Arden, among other roles, speak for themselves.
