McCann Worldgroup promotes President of the McCann L’Oréal Beauty Team to Chief Client Officer

Marketing firm McCann Worldgroup has promoted Nanette LaFond-Dufour to the newly created role of Chief Client Officer. Lafond-Dufour, who currently leads the company’s L’Oréal business in more than 70 markets in her role as President of the McCann L’Oréal Beauty Team from Paris, will relocate to New York to take up the position.

“It’s no secret that I think all our people should be attached to clients,” said McCann Chief Harris Diamond in an interview with AdWeek. “The difference will be in making sure there is a quality and focus in our drive to enhance client business. Nannette is one of those people who deeply understands not just business but also creativity and how to handle clients’ strategy.”

Lafond-Dufour will continue to oversee L’Oréal as part of her new role, as well as global clients Nestlé and Coca-Cola. In addition, the new Chief Client Officer is charged with identifying regional clients that could benefit from global opportunities. “This year, cross-selling integrated services and bringing in more regional business has been pretty high,” added Diamond. “That’s helping us to redefine the way we think about our business.”

Lafond-Dufour joined McCann from DDB Paris and New York in 2012, where she worked as Global Business Director for the Johnson & Johnson business for seven years.
