Medical care physicians represent strongest retail opportunity for professional skin care market, survey suggests

Medical care providers have been revealed to be leading distribution channel in the US professional skin care market, according to new research.

Kline Group has released the findings of its annual Physician-dispensed Skin Care: Perception and Satisfaction Survey which shows that in 2014, one-fourth of dispensing physicians generated over 15 percent of their revenue from the sales of skin care products.

To help skin care brands better access this market, Kline has launched the Physician-dispensed Skin Care: Category Sizing Panel Service, which allows companies size up market opportunities in physician-dispensed skin care across a broad range of product categories such as kits, body care, cleansers and toners, corrective treatments, eye treatments, lip treatments, masks, moisturizers, peels, specialty treatments and serums, and sun care.

Using shipment data regarding deliveries of skin care products to survey participants, the service will provide a market summary every six months to enable companies to identify the strongest retail opportunities.
