One of Brazil’s largest cosmetics and personal care companies, Natura, has signed a purchasing agreement with ingredients supplier Solazyme for a proprietary microalgae oil.

The agreement is the culmination of a two-year collaboration to develop new formulations using Solazyme’s AlgaPur Microalgae Oil. Natura plans to incorporate the ingredient into some of its multiple product lines. “We are always looking for ingredients from renewable sources and technologies inspired by nature, targeting low environmental impact processes and high performance solutions”, commented Daniel Gonzaga, Director of Advanced Research at Natura.
