THE WHAT? A New York court has thrown out a class action suit brought against L’Oréal which alleges that the French beauty brand’s EverSleek Keratin Caring hair care line is misleadingly named, according to the Global Legal Chronicle.
THE DETAILS Plaintiff Tammy DeVane claimed that the product name and its advertising are designed to trick customers into believing that the shampoo and conditioner duo contain keratin when they do not.
THE WHY? Judge George B Daniels threw out the suit, ruling that the ingredient list and other statements on the product label are unequivocal.
