Nivea Accelerator announces second batch of start-ups

THE WHAT? Beiersdorf has launched the second edition of its global start-up acceleration program, Nivea Accelerator (NX) in Seoul.

THE DETAILS Some 250 emerging businesses have been evaluated by the brand and an international committee, with the top 5 selected to join NX.

The 2020 cohort includes premium face care brand Femmue, vegan skin care brand Beigic, beauty influencer network Ice Creative, co-creation platform Woohwaman, and B2B retail platform Aio&Co.

They will begin their one-year booster course, which includes customized benefits such as exclusive office space, mentoring by senior executives and business partnership, from July 1.

THE WHY? Endrik Hasemann, General Manager Korea and Co-Founder NIVEA Accelerator revealed, “We are excited to welcome the five new NX start-ups, especially with reference to the success of last year. Our NX start-ups showed average growth rates of 130%+. In line with Beiersdorf’s global C.A.R.E.+ strategy, we have launched several successful co-innovation projects with the start-ups and invested into Lycl Inc., a beauty start-up from the first NX batch.”

“Now we will continue to drive co-innovation projects between the selected beauty start-ups and Beiersdorf. Looking ahead, we are aiming to become the leading beauty accelerator in Asia by 2022”, added Jacek Brozda, Co-Founder NIVEA Accelerator.
