Beiersdorf-owned Nivea India has cut the ribbon on phase 2 of its Sanand-based manufacturing plant, according to a report published by the Hindu Business Line.
The company invested some Rs150 crore in this new facility, bringing its total investment to date to Rs350 crore – it earmarked Rs850 crore for the capacity upgrade in 2014. With phase two, the Sanand plant’s capacity now stands at 240 million units per year.
“Our consumer-centric innovation backed by our R&D expertise and local insights has been key to our growth. We believe that this new production center will take us closer to achieving our goal of being emerging India’s most loved skin care brand,” Neil George, Managing Director, Nivea India told the Hindu Business Line.
