Nivea has signed a distributed power supply agreement with Asia Clean Capital (ACC), according to a report published by PV Tech.
The agreement provides for the installation of a rooftop solar system and solar carport at the Beiersdorf-owned skin care brand’s factory in Qingpu, Shanghai. The deal is part of Nivea’s wider mission to reduce its consumption of water, energy and finite natural resources in production and sales.
ACC is to invest 100 percent of the system cost and will be responsible for design, construction and long-term maintenance of the system. The electricity then generated will be sold to Nivea Shanghai at competitive rates.
“We are delighted to cooperate with Nivea to develop this solar system. We look forward to continuing cooperation together to boost the skin care industry’s sustainable development,” Tang Hao, Senior Vice President of ACC told PV Tech.
