No man is an island: CTPA raises concerns over post-Brexit REACH

The Cosmetics, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) has warned that a standalone UK REACH law would be detrimental to the industry, according to a report published by Chemical Watch.

The proposed chemicals regulation following the UK’s planned exit from the European Union is currently in the consultation phase. Responding to a parliamentary committee report, the CTPA said that operating independently of Echa would ‘incur duplication of time and costs’ for industry players.

The CTPA is calling for the UK to negotiate with the EU to be treated as if it is a member of the EEA under REACH, allowing the industry to access Echa and share data.
