Oriflame and Faberlic accused of illegally using Fifa World Cup imagery

Cosmetics companies Oriflame and Faberlic have been illegally using Fifa World Cup Imagery, according to Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

The agency is set to launch administrative proceedings against both companies in due course, with the FAS stating that both companies used imagery almost identical to the official 2018 Fifa World Cup signs in advertising and products without prior consent from Fifa.

It was suggested that such illegal use of the symbols could not only harm Russia’s reputation as the host nation but could also cause considerable material damage.

The FAS stated, “Consumers were left under false impression that Oriflame and Faberlic were involved in the football festival.”
