Oriflame to produce color cosmetics in India to boost export trade

Direct sales giant Oriflame is set to begin production of its color cosmetics products from its Indian ‘Wellness Factory’ in Uttarakhand, a move that is hoped to develop its export market from the country, according to a report by the Deccan Herald.

With India being a key market for the Swedish company, Oriflame uses the factory, one of two in India, to develop products for the domestic market as well as for exportation to countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam.

Catering to regional preferences, the company has developed products such as the facial kit, which have since become popular worldwide, with Sales Director Pradnya Deshpande indicating that the recent launch of a wellness category will be a ‘game changer’.

The category will have a further two products added to its current five SKU portfolio.
