Procter & Gamble has created a new Global Media Director role, according to a report published by The Drum.
Mondelez International media executive Gerry D’Angelo will take up the position, reporting to Vice President of Worldwide Brand Operations Doreen Bayliff. D’Angelo will be charged with overseeing the world’s biggest media budget, estimated at US$7.2 billion for 2015.
The move is part of a P&G drive to recruit outside talent. “We welcome Gerry D’Angelo to the P&G family in our quest to be out front in our brand-building media capabilities,” said Global Brand Officer Marc Pritchard. “He is a highly experienced and effective media executive with a great track record.”
