Procter & Gamble’s Philippines arm has teamed up with the country’s Department of Trade to run a program aimed at helping the owners of neighbourhood stores, known as sari-sari, to expand their businesses, according to a report published by Kam City.
The Angat Kita program, which translates as ‘Uplifting You’, will see the US FMCG giant help owners develop their stores into medium-sized enterprises through a series of workshops as well as offering seed capital.
The program will pilot in five locations, including Mandaluyong City, over the next few months.
