The yoga guru behind one of India’s fastest growing consumer goods companies, Patanjali, has claimed that the company is poised to overtake its global competitors within three years, according to a report published by LiveMint.
“Colgate will be below Pantanjali by this year, and in three years, we will overtake Unilever,” Baba Ramdev revealed at a press conference in Bengaluru on Friday. Ramdev went on to anticipate that the company’s revenue will more than double this year to Rs5,000 crore. Analysts agree, estimating revenues to soar 16-fold to Rs20,000 crore by 2020.
In December, Pantanjali announced its intention to invest Rs1,000 crore in expanding capacity, building e-commerce and expanding into overseas markets.
