Indian content company Zee Entertainment Enterprises has announced the winners of its first ZEE Mindspace Awards. Several multinationals were recognized for their success at capturing consumers’ mindspace, with Hindustan Unilever clocking up wins across five categories to be declared the overall winner.
The winners were chosen based on a nationwide survey of more than 12,000 consumers conducted by Nielsen. Zee Managing Director and CEO Punit Goenka said, “ZEE Mindspace Awards gives marketers a true reflection of their efforts sown in building brands. The very essence of the awards is its USP – the winners are not chosen by a jury but by the consumers themselves. The structured research conducted across the nation by Nielsen has empowered the consumers to select the most recalled brands as the winners, in a unique and transparent process.”
Unilever’s Dove brand won through in the Bathing Soap and Shampoo & Conditioner categories while its Pond’s line took the top spot in Skin Cream and Vaseline picked up the title for Moisturiser / Body Lotion. L’Oréal’s Garnier was the most recalled brand in the Hair Colour & Dyes category while Colgate triumphed in the Toothpaste / Toothbrush section.
Several local brands were also recognised for their strong brand recall: Himalaya was crowned top of Face Wash while Vini Cosmetics’ Fogg brand took the number one spot in Deodorants.
