Peruvian government-run program Sierra Exportadora has announced that the country is set to export a home-grown cosmetics and personal care line to some 23 Asia-Pacific markets, according to a report published by Andina.
Peruvian GB Corp has signed a distribution agreement with Chinese firm Viss International to export the ‘Qeira’ line across Asia-Pacific. Qeira, which translates from Quechua as ‘skin of gold’, is made from ingredients produced by Sierra Exportadora-trained farmers in the Junin and Piura regions.
The line will initially comprise of hair care products made from red, black and yellow quinoa, followed by bath products formulated with camu camu, maca and purple corn. A skin care line is said to be in development.
