THE WHAT? Procter & Gamble has announced that its shareholders have elected Rajesh Subramaniam, President and CEO of FedEx Corporation to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. The 10 incumbent Directors were also elected at the US FMCG giant’s AGM, each receiving more than 90 percent support.
THE DETAILS P&G claims that its Board is demographically diverse, comprising 45 percent women and 45 percent multicultural. The company declared a quarterly dividend of US$0.9133 per share at the AGM also.
THE WHY? Jon Moeller, P&G’s Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, explains, “Raj brings to P&G’s Board significant experience in the areas of corporate operations, strategy, technology, and innovation. In addition, his global leadership experience in markets outside the US will allow him to contribute unique insights and perspective to our Board.”
