THE WHAT? Postmates has announced the launch of a new platform offering users instant delivery from LA-based apparel, homeware, beauty and wellness stores, according to a report published by CNBC.
THE DETAILS LA-based shoppers can access the new channel via the Postmates app to shop at boutiques across the city, including Lauder-owned Le Labo.
The food-delivery platform will roll out the new service to further cities early next year.
THE WHY? Postmates has long planned to branch out into retail but the pandemic and holidays have hastened its expansion, Mike Buckley, SVP told CNBC. “Holiday shopping is a big driver of volume for merchants and so we wanted to get this solution to them as quickly as we could and help them tap into increased demand,” he said.
