Prizes of N3 million up for grabs as PZ Cussons Nigeria launches chemistry competition

PZ Cussons’ Nigerian branch has launched a chemistry competition for secondary pupils, offering prizes to the value of more than N3 million.

Brand Manager of Carex in Nigeria, Oluwaseun Ayeni announced at the launch that the overall winner would receive N900,000 in cash, while the school would gain a laptop and a gold medal. For the runner-up, a cash prize of N600,000 awaits, with a silver medal and laptop for the school.

The annual competition, which has run for the last three years, forms part of PZ Cussons Foundation’s social responsibility initiative and is designed to promote learning of chemistry among Nigeria’s students. The three-stage competition is endorsed by the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian National Association of Parents and Teachers.

Two pupils per school will be eligible to enter the first stage of the competition, which will take place across 10 centres in Lagos State.
