Procter & Gamble named as top diversity employer in Canada

Personal care giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) has been named as one of the best employers in Canada by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

P&G was named in the list of ‘Canada’s Best Diversity Employers’ due to its workplaces encouraging diversity through groups such as women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, aboriginal people as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees.

The company has previously been recognised for its successful work places, including the creation of a diversity council, annual diversity reviews from senior-level employees across all business units, and internal employee networks that offer support for professional development.

Kristina Leung, Senior Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, said, “Employers that ensure their workforces reflect the community have an advantage.
“These organizations benefit from a wider range of perspectives, which inevitably brings new and innovative ideas.”

Other accomplishments for the company included scoring an A+ for physical workspace, training and skills development, work atmosphere and communications as well as health and family friendly benefits.
