THE WHAT? Procter & Gamble has announced Damon Jones as its new Chief Communications Officer.
THE DETAILS Having been with Procter & Gamble for 23 years, Jones has most recently served as Vice President of Global Communications and Advocacy.
Succeeding Craig Buchholz, Jones will report to P&G Chief Brand Officer Marc Pritchard in his new role, with the two having previously worked together on company advertising policies such as gender and racial equality.
THE WHY? Tasked with heading up all comms for the personal care giant, Jones said of the new challenges amidst the coronavirus outbreak, “Trust in brands and companies has never been more important. Communications plays a huge role in helping shape what we do and how we do it in a way that fosters this trust with critically important stakeholders.
“I’m humbled with the responsibility to carry on this tradition, especially in the midst of our current challenges.”
