Some 120 Cincinnati-based P&G beauty employees have been told that their positions are at risk of being relocated to various locations following the Coty divesture, including New York, New Jersey or even Germany.
The consumer goods giant is set to close a $12.5 billion deal with Coty later this year that will see it sell or split off 41 specialty beauty brands to Coty, which include CoverGirl, Wella and Clairol.
Following the closure of the deal later this year around 10,000 workers will move over to become Coty employees while around 50 R&D jobs will be moved to New Jersey while some managerial workers will be offered roles further afield in Germany.
Other departments affected by the move include marketing and finance workers, alongside those that provide logistics and other support, whom may move to an as yet undisclosed location.
However, it’s said that the relocation of the positions will not take place until approximately 18 months after the close of the Coty deal, with the company offering relocation support to those affected.
