Procter & Gamble announces upgrades to Oral-B App

Oral-B has announced upgrades to its App technology that will enable customers to personalize their tooth-brushing experience.

Oral-B’s current App monitors the length of time that customers spend brushing their teeth and issues reminders about flossing, rinsing and tongue cleaning.

Yet at GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, from March 2-5, Oral-B announced that it has developed the App to enable customers to input their individual oral care goals in order to receive personalised instructions while brushing.

Since Oral-B debuted its current App at GSMA Mobile World Congress last year, data has shown that Oral-B electric toothbrush users are now brushing for an average of 2.24 minutes, an improvement on the estimated one minute spent on brushing with a manual toothbrush.

The Oral-B App has been downloaded nearly 300,000 times since it launched and 87 percent of users were active in the month of December 2014.

Stephen Squire, Global Brand Director at P&G, commented, “We are encouraged by the consumer feedback and data regarding our App’s ability to improve and maintain oral care routines and have used this proof as inspiration to continue investing and innovating in this area.”

“In partnership with dental professionals and consumers, Oral-B has created the next generation brushing experience that utilizes personal goals, unique dental considerations and entertainment to ensure our consumers are getting the best possible results outside a dentist chair.”
