Pantone has announced its Color of the Year for 2018. The color institute has nominated Ultra Violet (Pantone 18-3838) as the shade that will define the year ahead.

It is this kind of creative inspiration that is indigenous to Ultra Violet, a blue-based purple that takes our awareness and potential to a higher level. From exploring new technologies and the greater galaxy, to artistic expression and spiritual reflection, intuitive Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come,” said Pantone.

The color ties into the recent galactic make-up trend, and from a beauty perspective, is far more versatile than Greenery – it can span lipstick, nail varnish, hair color and eyeshadow more readily than bright green.
