THE WHAT? Coty-owned Rimmel London and anti-cyberbullying charity The Cybersmile Foundation have announced a major update to the Cybersmile Assistant for Ant-Bullying week.
THE DETAILS First launched in 2019 with Rimmel London as part of a three-year partnership, the Cybersmile Assistant delivers 24/7 advice and instant access to professional support resources and crisis helplines for users in the UK, US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Now into its second year, it has had an overhaul of the user interface and experience, with updates including ongoing conversational training and development to ensure the assistant is providing best practice advice and guidance for topics such as cyberbullying, mental health, body image and online safety.
Sarah Alshohaib, Senior Director at Rimmel London, said, “Since 2018, we’ve been working in partnership with The Cybersmile Foundation to raise awareness of cyberbullying. We share their vision of a digital community where everyone can feel free to express themselves without fear of ridicule and abuse.”
THE WHY? Going forwards the assistant will have further development, with 2020 seeing a 20% increase in cyber bullying and online abuse support requests, a 20% increase in anxiety related support requests and a 15% increase in catfish related support requests.
According to a press release, “The third year of the partnership will see Cybersmile continue to develop the Cybersmile Assistant to provide deeper conversational understanding, enhanced accessibility and comprehensive support in key areas identified by the assistant during the last twelve months which include anxiety, racism and depression.”
