THE WHAT? The CEO of Harvey Nichols, Manju Malhotra has resigned from her post. Malhotra has worked for the UK department store for some 25 years and was appointed CEO in 2020.

THE DETAILS Pearson Poon, the son of Harvey Nichols owner Sir Dickson Poon, will step into the top job until a permanent replacement is found.

THE WHY? No reason was cited for Malhotra’s departure but rumors abound that the resignation follows a clash with Poon over strategy. The department store has issued a statement rubbishing the claims.

Dickson Poon noted, “The departure is on amicable terms with Manju working her notice period to ensure a smooth transition.”
