THE WHAT? Sephora Australia has suspended all custom makeover services and make-up lessons ‘until further notice’ according to a report published by the Huffington Post.
THE DETAILS The report quoted a customer email as its source, which read, “In view of the ongoing 2019 Novel Coronavirus situation, Sephora would like to reiterate that the health and wellbeing of our customers and our cast is of paramount importance.
“All custom makeover services and makeup lessons will be suspended until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding.
The LVMH-owned perfumery chain confirmed the news in an email sent to Huffington Post.
THE WHY? Sephora will be seeking to limit liability in the event that either one of its employees or customers contracts the disease following a make-over at one of its stores. With both make-up brushes and make-up known to be able to harbour and spread infections, not to mention the proximity of the MUA to the subject, it’s a sensible call.
