Sephora China launches experiential Beijing TaiKoo Li Sanlitun Flagship Store

THE WHAT? Sephora China has unveiled its new TaiKoo Li flagship store in Beijing, launched in collaboration with Chinese artist Chen Baoyang.

THE DETAILS The store, which is open 24/7, is said to be ‘digital and art savvy’ and offers an array of experiences and offerings. 

Creating digital artwork named Algorithmic Blossom especially for the store, Baoyang designed the artwork to represent the ‘beauty of flowers with skillful use of topological fractal algorithms, employing digital simulation and VR technology to display diverse flowers in full bloom that denotes elegant integrity and unbounded romance.’

Features include an AR photo booth, the first Sephora Hair Bar in China, as well as the retailer’s new home fragrance category. There is also a special beauty gifting zone. 

Sephora Beauty Pass members can make appointments via the retailer’s official WeChat account. 

THE WHY? Maggie Chan, Managing Director of LVMH – Sephora Greater China, discussed the store opening, “Sephora has been committed to breaking boundaries and bringing diverse forms of beauty to Chinese consumers. The TaiKoo Li Flagship Store is another successful practice of our retail innovation. Therefore, we welcome consumers to this space we created integrating art and technologies seamlessly, to discover their own power of beauty.”
