Sephora named Retailer of the Year at the 2018 World Retail Congress

US retailer Sephora has been named Retailer of the year at the 2018 World Retail Congress, an award which is said to represent a retailer that the Grand Jury deems to be a ‘truly world-class operator’.

The premier category in the World Retail Awards, the accolade is awarded to a company that has shown outstanding results across a number of areas. Likewise the business has to showcase how it has ‘adapted to the realities of the digital world by transforming its approach to retailing and the way that it is managing for the future.’

Chris de Lapuente, Sephora Worldwide CEO, said, “Sephora has seen wonderful global growth over the last ten years and now operates in 34 countries with more than 2,500 stores.
“We are very proud to be named ‘Retailer of the Year’, which confirms that the Sephora concept enjoys appreciation on a global scale. As a brand we win best when we win together and this award recognizes and touches all the tens of thousands in the Sephora family who have made us successful all over the world.”

The Body Shop UK was awarded the accolade of Responsible Retailer of the Year for its Enrich not Exploit campaign, while the Retail Brand Collaboration of the Year went to Fenty Beauty with Harvey Nichols and Kendo Brands.
