Sephora tempts shoppers back with boost to loyalty program

THE WHAT? Sephora has unveiled the latest incantation of its Beauty Insider loyalty program. The update ushers in several new initiatives designed to tempt consumers to spend with the LVMH-owned retailer, such as instant savings, point multiplier events and exclusive experiences.

THE DETAILS Indeed, among the new benefits are Beauty Insider Cash, which converts points into an instant discount at checkout, as well as Free Shipping for all members, Meet and Greets, Trips and More (the latter will only apply once social distancing restrictions are lifted).

“Our goal is to create a multi-faceted and well-rounded program to cater to the changing needs of our clients. We know they want more ways to save and even more access to things like products, brand founders, services and one-of-a-kind experiences that are unique to Sephora,” said Allegra Stanley Krishnan, Vice President and General Manager of Loyalty at Sephora. “We also know rewards that provide greater emotional and memorable experiences are the most meaningful for our clients, and we want to continue to deliver personalized experiences where our clients can choose what works best for their needs. The emotional component of loyalty is a vital driver of our loyalty program and what really matters most to our clients.”

THE WHY? With sales hit by COVID-19 closures, the update will hopefully prove a timely incentive to get consumers shopping.
