Beauty retailer Sephora is set to open a new distribution centre in northern Mississippi this summer, which will create 400 jobs over the course of five years, according to Mississippi Business Journal.
The distribution centre, which spans 720,000 square foot and is said to begin operations this month while shipping will begin in the summer, is located in the warehouse park by Prologis – based in San Francisco.
Mike Racer, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, Sephora Americas, said, “We are very pleased to be opening new distribution operations and along with it creating new jobs.”
Indeed, the LVMH-owned subsidiary is working with Ability Works, a division of the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation that provides vocational assessment, job training, and work experience for individuals with disabilities.
Speaking of the collaboration, Racer said, “Ability Works is a terrific organization with an important mission and we are thrilled to be partnering with them to help with the hiring at our new distribution center.”
