Sephora has upgraded its popular Virtual Artist tool to allow users to trial a wider array of make-up products via augmented reality.
The LVMH-owned retailer has added blush, bronzer, contour and highlighter functionality, according to a report published by PYMNTS.com.
“With these additions, Sephora Virtual Artist continues to put the power and expertise of Sephora quite literally in the palms of our clients’ hands,” said Bridget Dolan, Sephora’s VP of Innovation. “Since launching Virtual Artist in 2016, our clients have virtually tried on millions of shade combinations.”
The app’s Color Match for Virtual Try On feature, meanwhile, uses artificial intelligence to estimate coloration from an image and suggest shades of lipstick, eyeshadow and blush that would work with the user’s skin tone.
