She Leads Africa and L’Oréal-owned Dark and Lovely have teamed up to launch a program hailed as Africa’s first start-up accelerator for female beauty entrepreneurs, according to a report published by the International Business Times.

Some 200 applications have been filed for the South Africa-based scheme, which is offering mentorship and networking opportunities as well as the chance to win a US$5,000 investment. Applications close September 1.

“The Middle East and Africa is the fastest growing beauty market in the world,” She Leads Africa Co-founder Afua Osei told International Business Times. “This is absolutely the first program that focuses on beauty entrepreneurs and definitely the first one that focuses on a pan-African approach.”
