Shiseido has joined forces with A.S. Watson Group to co-launch a line of pollution fighting skincare, named Urban Damage Care, under derma skincare brand d program.
The range, aimed at women and created in Japan, is said to protect against urban pollution. Launched in Thailand and Taiwan, it is set to roll out in other Asian markets in the future.
The skincare range includes make-up remover, cream, lotion, emulsion, and facial cleanser, with Malina Ngai Man-lin, Group Chief Operating Officer at A.S. Watson Group stating that work on the line started some 18 months ago.
Masahiko Uotani, Representative Director, President and CEO of Shiseido Group, said in a press release, “A.S. Watson is the largest health and beauty retailer in the world that acts with speed, innovation and vision making them the perfect retailer to bring Urban Damage Care to the high street.

Watson’s extensive distribution network and customer insight of the derma cosmetics category and Shiseido’s expertise in R&D and innovation, this has enabled us to co-create a range that supports our core values of putting the customers’ needs first while ensuring that it is accessible to customers.”
Ngai Man-lin continued, “We shared and exchanged customer insights about the increasing consumer demand for more sophisticated skincare solutions in Asia. Immediately we decided to work together on this common mission to produce an exclusive range for Watson’s customers.”
