Shiseido to develop childcare centers in joint venture

Cosmetics giant Shiseido is joining forces with nursery operator JP Holdings Inc to set up child care facilities at its corporate sites in a bid to aid a better work life balance for its female employees.

The contract is due to be signed in January with Shiseido holding a 51 percent stake, with the first facility opening at its factory in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture.

The facilities will accept approximately 50 children before elementary school age from employees and residents living near the site, with plans to extend the venture nationwide.
