Shiseido to measure skin bacteria in store with new speedy test

THE WHAT? Shiseido has announced that it has developed a new testing method to measure the amount and balance of indigenous skin bacteria in a simple and easy way in a short time through collaboration with Yamato Esulon Co and Orcoa Co.

THE DETAILS Similar tests usually take almost a month to garner results but the J-beauty giant’s simplified, compact device can obtain results in just 40 minutes, making in store consumer testing a possibility.

THE WHY? Shiseido said that its PCR*3 testing device would allow it to usher in a new beauty service, enhancing in-store experience and enabling the brand to offer personalized skin care solutions.
