Shisiedo suffers data breach affecting 420,000 Japanese customers

Some 420,000 Japanese consumers have become the latest victim of data theft, after Shiseido’s online security was breached, according to a report published by SC Magazine.

The brand’s online shopping facility, which is overseen by subsidiary IPSA, has warned that customers who made purchases between December 14th, 2011 and November 4th, 2016 are at risk – with credit card details thought to have been accessed.

The Japanese cosmetics firm is said to have reported the incursion to local police.
