Skims Appoints Ami Colé Founder Diarrha N’Diaye as EVP of Beauty and Fragrance

THE WHAT? Skims has named Diarrha N’Diaye as executive vice president of beauty and fragrance, a newly created role overseeing product development and brand strategy across the growing beauty division.

THE DETAILS N’Diaye, who officially joins the company this week, previously held roles at Glossier and L’Oréal before founding Ami Colé in 2021—an inclusive makeup brand celebrated for its minimal, skin-first approach. Earlier this year, she announced the brand would wind down operations.

Her appointment follows Skims’ acquisition of Kim Kardashian’s skincare and makeup line, Skkn by Kim, from Coty Inc. in March. N’Diaye is expected to guide the integration of that portfolio and shape Skims’ broader beauty expansion, including makeup, haircare, and fragrance. Skims, valued at US$4 billion after its 2023 funding round, continues to diversify beyond its core apparel offering, with ongoing retail expansion and viral product launches driving growth.

THE WHY? The hire marks a key step in Skims’ entry into the beauty sector, positioning the brand to leverage N’Diaye’s inclusive vision and industry expertise to develop a unified strategy across categories.
