THE WHAT? Singapore’s Changi Airport is offering those self-isolating at home the chance to enjoy tax free prices without flying.

THE DETAILS The airport’s iShopChangi site is offering ‘tax-absorbed’ shopping to Singaporeans who spend a minimum of S$99 online. Shoppers can browse a dedicated selection of products for non-travellers, purchase via the e-commerce platform and have products delivered to their homes.

A number of retailers are participating in the promotion, including Shilla Duty Free, Airport Pharmacy, DFS, and The Planet Traveller.

THE WHY? With passenger numbers declining steeply, Changi has already offered its tenants a series of relief measures such as consolidating terminal operations and waiving rents, this initiative offers retailers a chance to continue trading.
