THE WHAT? Stefan De Loecker is to step down as Beiersdorf CEO, with a ‘mutually agreed’ termination of his Executive Board mandate effective 30th June, 2021.
THE DETAILS De Loecker will be succeeded by Vincent Warnery, who will be appointed as the new CEO as of 1st May, 2021.
Having served as a member of the group’s executive board since 2017, Warnery has previously headed up the company’s Pharmacy and Selective division as well as the North American arm.
Prior to his role with Beiersforf, Warnery has held an extensive career in consumer health and cosmetics, having had stints at Procter & Gamble, L’Oréal and Sanofi.
THE WHY? Talking about his departure, De Loecker said, “My goal was to strength Beiersdorf in an era of digital disruption and environmental challenges to keep the company on track for success in the long term. I am convinced that we have laid this foundation.”
Meanwhile Reinhard Pöllath, Chairman of Beiersdorf’s supervisory board, lauded De Loecker for having ‘strategically equipped the skin care company for the future.’
