Sulzer’s GEKA Bechhofen site expansion to create 250 new jobs

Sulzer has announced an expansion of the GEKA site, located in Bechhofen, Germany, a move which will create 250 new jobs at the site.

GEKA, which manufacturers application systems for liquid color cosmetics and beauty accessories, will have 12 000 m2 more manufacturing space, with the production space said to double. The development is said begin this year and to reach completion in 2018.

The move comes as the company has seen ‘significant growth’ over the past two years, and is looking to further ambitious growth plans for its beauty business and to ‘further extend the value chain’.

Amaury de Menthière, Division President Applicator Systems, says, “This investment in the Bechhofen location shows that Sulzer is fully convinced of the success of its new Applicator Systems division — to which GEKA belongs — and that Sulzer is seeking to strengthen Bechhofen as a global headquarters for the beauty business.”
