THE DETAILS The bright white food colorant is also used in toothpaste, sunscreen and other cosmetic products and has already been outlawed by the European Food Safety Authority.
THE WHY? Titanium dioxide consumption has been linked to several medical conditions, including cancer, auto-immune diseases, dementia, eczema and asthma, and regulatory bodies are particularly concerned about its genotoxity.
