The beginning of the end? Jumei Co-Founder quits ‘for personal reasons’

Yusen Dai, Co-founder and Vice President of Chinese cross-border cosmetics platform Jumei has resigned for personal reasons, effective immediately.

“We greatly appreciate the contributions Yusen made since the inception of our company. We respect his decision and wish him the very best in his future pursuits,” said Founder, Chairman and CEO Leo Ou Chen in a press release published on the company’s corporate site.

Several Weibo users have speculated that Dai’s resignation spells the beginning of the end for Jumei, which has suffered from counterfeit scandals over the past few years, leading it to delist from the US stock exchange last year, according to a report published by Jing Daily.
