THE WHAT? The Estee Lauder Companies’ North American unit is carrying out a management reshuffle and reorganisation that will see some 1 percent of roles cut, according to a report published by WWD quoting an internal memo.
THE DETAILS Cinzia Bernasconi, VP and GM for By Kilian and Frederic Malle is leaving the business and Belinda Pickford has been appointed to the expanded role of VP and GM for Tom Ford Beauty, By Kilian and Frederic Malle.
Hilary Soloman has been named VP and GM for Origins, ADF and Lab Series, Kendal Ascher has been promoted to SVP and GM for La Mer, Jo Malone London and Darphin, and Kristin Ruesch is stepping up to the new role of VP and GM for Bobbi Brown and Bumble and Bumble.
Estee Lauder, Clinique, MAC and Aveda will each be afforded a dedicated team for the market based on the size and scale of the brand, with Jenny Belknap announced as SVP of Portfolio Strategy for North America and Beth Guastella rising to SVP and GM for Clinique North America.
THE WHY? The reorganisation is part of the wider Post-COVID Business Acceleration Program, reflecting a greater shift towards digital channels. Chris Good, North America Group President, wrote to employees in the memo, per WWD, “As we evolved our organization to reflect our new reality, there will be some talent impacts in certain areas of the business. While difficult, these decisions are necessary to effectively pivot to new market dynamics and lead our business into the future.”
